Be a hero this year

The Bridge to Brisbane isn’t your average fun run. You run one race but get two times – your race time and your Hero Time. Your Hero Time is your race time minus one second for every $1 you raise for charity.

You also get to choose which charity you allocate your fundraising to.

To set up a fundraising page or make a donation to someone else’s fundraising, visit the Everyday Hero website by clicking the button below.

No, you can choose between a 5km or 10km distance. You can run or walk either of these.
10km – 6.00am

For safety reasons the two distances are split into coloured starting zones. The zone you run in depends on how long you think you will take to complete the race. Each coloured start zone will be staggered to allow the bridge/road to clear from the previous start group.

There are three starting zones which require qualifying times from a previous race of the same distance. If you want to run in one of these zones, but you haven’t previously run in the Bridge to Brisbane, proof of your time must be provided to the race office (bridgetobrisbane@emsaustralia.net.au) from another official race event for consideration.

For 2013, there will be FREE public transport on all Brisbane Transport Buses and Queensland Rail Services to and from the event up until 3PM on race day for all competitors. All you need to do is show your official race bib. To be able to access this free public transport, you must keep your race bib on at all times when travelling on Brisbane Transport buses or Queensland Rail trains on Sunday 1 September 2013. After the event, the RNA showgrounds train station will be operating to link people to their desired home destination.

For train timetables visit translink.com.au closer to event date.

The post-race shuttle bus services will be provided for transporting competitors from the Finish Venue (RNA Showgrounds) to the 10km and 5km start lines after the race and other ‘park and run’ car parking areas around Brisbane. If you are going to park at the start line or get picked up near the starting lines, after the race, then you will need to get on the buses that will take you back to the starting lines after the race.

Sorry, NO PARKING is available at the RNA showgrounds for 2013 event.

A number of ‘park and run’ (park then catch a bus) locations around Brisbane will be announced in June. These official event ‘park and run’ areas will allow you to park your vehicle and then catch free public transport to the start lines. Then after the event you will be able to catch buses from the RNA back to your vehicle location.

Please note that a baggage service will not be available for health and safety reasons. Please ensure you make alternative arrangements.

At 9.10am any 10km participants who have not passed the 5km starting area at Remora Street may be directed off the course and into the 5km start marshaling area. They will then be able to rejoin the course at the 5km start time of 9.40am. All participants must be off the Inner City bypass by 11am.

Fundraising

In the Bridge to Brisbane, you run one race, but get two times – your race time and your Hero Time.
Your Hero Time equals your race time minus one second for every $1 you raise for charity. You must use the official Bridge to Brisbane Everyday Hero page to be eligible for a Hero Time.

This year all fundraising is done online. You can set up your own fundraising page via the Everyday Hero page. Just click Start Fundraising and from there you can create a page, share it with your friends and start fundraising.

When you are setting up your fundraising account, make sure you use the same first name, last name and email address as you did during the event entry process to ensure we can easily calculate your Hero Time.

Yes! You can choose to donate to as many charities as you like. Just set up multiple fundraising pages (one for each charity) and start fundraising.
If your favourite charity isn’t on the existing list, you’ll need to ask them to contact Everyday Hero to have them added as a certified charity.
Yes, just make sure the team name on the fundraising page matches your registered team name, or similarly that an individual’s name is the same on your registration and Everyday Hero page, so that your friends can easily find you and to ensure that you receive your Hero Time.
This is really easy once you click Start Fundraising. On the right hand side of your fundraising page you can either join or create a fundraising team and from there just follow the on-screen prompts to complete.
Please contact Everyday Hero's support team on 1300 798 768 or info@everydayhero.com.au between 7am - 6pm AEST Monday - Friday for any fundraising page or team queries.
